translation by Josie Ciccarelli To the traditional fourteen stations of the Via Crucis, Mimmo Paladino, who also develops in his enameled terracotta tiles also the theme of the four elements, adds a fifteenth tile with the Resurrezione.
1° and 2° station: Jesus is sentenced to death and Jesus is loaded with the cross.
3° and 4° station: Jesus falls the first time and Jesus meets his mother.
5° and 6° station: the Cireneo carries Jesus’ cross and Veronica dries the face of Jesus.
7° and 8° station: Jesus falls the second time and Jesus meets the pious women.
9° and 10° station: Jesus falls the third time and Jesus is naked of his dresses.
11° and 12° station: Jesus is nailed to the Cross and Jesus dies on the Cross.
13° and 14° station: Jesus is deposed from the Cross and Jesus is carried to the sepulchre.
15° station: the Resurrection.
